What is a UPS Billing Adjustment?

When a shipper sends a package with UPS, they begin by printing a label to attach before shipping. This label indicates the declared value based on the package's size, weight, service type, and destination zone. However, if the information on the label is found to be inaccurate, UPS may make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate processing.

As a result, UPS applies a billing adjustment in such cases. A UPS Billing Adjustment refers to any changes made to the shipping information provided by the shipper, whether it is incomplete or inaccurate. These adjustments can include corrections to the address, weight, dimensions, service type, or shipping number, with the associated costs charged to the shipper accordingly.

These types of charges will appear on our Reveel Platform as UPS Billing Adjustments or Shipping Charge Corrections on the Surcharge Spend page.
