This article includes Overview, How Reveel Calculates these Metrics, How to Connect Your Tracking Data & What's Coming Next
Overview
Reveel provides two key Vital Factors to help you evaluate carrier performance:
-
On-Time Performance (OTP) – available for FedEx, UPS, GLS, and Sway
-
Transit Time – available for FedEx, UPS, GLS, Sway, UniUni, and Endicia
These metrics are calculated using tracking data integrated from your carriers.
When tracking data isn’t available, Reveel applies fallback logic that estimates performance using the ship and delivery dates (when available).
How Reveel Calculates these Metrics
When Tracking Data Is Integrated
When Reveel receives tracking data directly from your carriers, the metrics are calculated using detailed event timestamps and status updates.
This provides the most accurate representation of carrier performance, as it includes insights that are not available on carrier invoices.
When Tracking Data Is Not Integrated
If tracking data is not available, Reveel uses the following fallback logic:
-
The service level is used to determine the expected delivery timeframe.
-
The delivery date is compared to the expected delivery window to determine if the package was on time.
Note: Fallback logic does not account for weekends or carrier holidays.
This approach still provides directional insight into your carriers’ performance when full tracking data isn’t available.
How to Connect Your Tracking Data
Tracking data integration is currently supported for UPS and FedEx.
