What is D.A.S.?

DAS (Delivery Area Surcharge) refers to additional fees imposed by carriers on shipments delivered to specific areas or regions deemed remote, less accessible, or challenging to reach. These surcharges account for the extra costs associated with transporting packages to these locations.

These surcharges are typically added to the standard shipping cost to compensate for the extra resources and expenses involved in delivering packages to these areas. They help carriers offset the higher costs associated with reaching remote locations, which may include longer travel distances, increased fuel expenses, specialized vehicles, and more complex logistics arrangements.

You can access visibility of these charges through the Spend by Surcharge Breakdown under the Surcharge Spend tab.

Detailed information about DAS is available in your PDF agreement as well as in the digital agreement. To find this information, navigate to the Agreement Comparison page, open the digital agreement, and refer to the Surcharges tab.
